Beginners rides with Bicycle revival
16th May 2026 ~ 10am-1pm

Bicycle Revival is now offering beginner-friendly rides at Victoria Park in Widnes, delivered in partnership with Cycling UK & Halton Borough Council.

These sessions are designed to encourage positive behaviour change by promoting cycling as a healthy, accessible mode of transport, while also creating an inclusive space for families and individuals who want to build confidence on the bike. For those who don’t have access to a bicycle, a limited number of free loan bikes are available at the park, giving everyone the opportunity to come along and give cycling a try.

All rides are led by trained Bicycle Revival ride leaders and take place at a relaxed, leisurely pace, with a strong focus on enjoyment, social connection, and improving overall wellbeing, perfect for meeting new people, building confidence, getting active for the summer, and having fun in a supportive environment.

The meeting point is outside the cycling hub next to Esposito Cafe, Victoria Park, and sessions run from 10am until 1pm.

Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. This may include bringing waterproofs if rain is expected, and wearing thin, breathable layers that can be easily added or removed to help regulate your body temperature. Comfortable, closed-toe footwear such as trainers are recommended to ensure good support and grip while cycling. It’s also a good idea to check the weather forecast in advance so you can come prepared and enjoy the session safely and comfortably.
